Miss Marisa
Marisa “Ms. Risa” Baldwin was born in Mobile, AL and raised in Birmingham, AL where at 3 years old she began to study dance/ baton with Corky Bell Studios. In college, she continued her studies in dance at Brevard College and began her teaching career with Titusville Ballet & Jazz Center. After college in 1991 she moved back to Birmingham & joined the teaching staff at Corky Bell Studios and became the Jazz Director for the Intermediate level of students. In 1995 she became the the director/choreographer for the dance line at the University of Montevallo until opening her own studio “The Dance Company” in 1998. This year makes it her 36th year of being blessed to do what she absolutely loves. Ms. Risa has 3 beautiful daughters, Alyssa 26, Kathryne 20 & Leah Rose 18. Aston is her precious grandson who is 6 years old. She and her family moved here to Fairhope in December of 2018 where she also added another love to her resume in becoming a School Bus Driver for Baldwin County, which makes her a familiar face for a lot of our dancers!
